Nostalgie

Gavril's home. The village is the world, in a figurative and literal sense. She's never left it. Never seen the other side of the rolling hills surrounding Nostalgie. There's only one tree for miles, a solitary cork oak at the edge of Lake Oublié. Gavril can often be found sitting at its roots, gazing off at the distance. She won't step beyond the barrier, but she can dream and gaze at the stars. Dreams are all that's left for this tiny dying settlement.

Envie

Home of Gervais, Seigneur de l'Envie. Envie has always been a place living in the shadow of what once was. The citizens love their seigneur and will go to any lengths to serve him faithfully. He is the only man with an automatram and a wooden dining table, after all. Wealth like that doesn't come easy in Tristesse. Gervais and his children, Cyril and Charmant, strut around the town like royalty, but for Gavril, Envie is more a prison than a palace. One that promises to rend what it can from her body, leaving nothing but a husk.
Jalousie

Jalousie took its last breath twenty-two years ago. The town wasn't able to provide a Résonateur to pay the service to replace its dying Solenoid, so the fate of its citizens was left to the Great Heart. Fortune couldn't have been worse. A Phase attacked the town as soon as its barrier fell, killing many and leaving the rest to flee to Envie. The seigneur's son Gervais was tasked with determining their fate. The risk of being dampened . . . too great.

Remords

A town on the Crainte-Tristesse border and home to Simone's Finery dress shop, Remords was once a bustling town with a soulever port and two Solenoids. That was over a century ago. The Paramount constructed a larger soulever port in nearby Anxiété, leading to a decline in commerce and incoming travelers looking to establish new roots. After some time, the Paramount decided the population didn't justify two Solenoids, so the one over the distant part of town was never replaced after being removed. For a century, that half of the city, known as Fin Fragile, has decayed without disturbance. The perfect place for someone who doesn't want to be found.
Panique

The village of Panique once guarded the entrance to the Vallée de la Solitude, a pristine valley split by Le Solitaire River and surrounded by silver mountains. The town fell ten years ago, and now the valley has become a stronghold for dampened. You won't see them at first. But they see you.

Calme

A jewel in the Bonheur region boasting a relier hub, soulever port, quality clinique, and proximity to Éthéré Coeur, Calme is considered one of the safest, wealthiest, and most desirable cities in Premier Esprit . . . if you meet the right criteria. Seigneur Rodrigue isn't shy about keeping the population within certain limits, and if those limits break the threshold? Well, you'd better hope you're in good standing with the seigneur.
Port Refoulé

The southernmost city in Premier Esprit, Port Refoulé serves as a major trading hub, harboring both sea and air vessels. And conventional goods aren't the only items to indulge in. The city is split into two levels, the respectable Piers on top and the famously unrespectable Underdocks below. However one chooses to spend their time and silver, Port Refoulé is a city that lingers for all the wrong reasons.

Tickerton

Welcome to Tickerton, y'all! All the way down south across the Mer de Rage lies the mysterious New Heartlandia, and only the top tip's been explored thanks to them there Loftytops mountains. Tickerton is Premier Esprit's first—and only—colony in the harsh red-dirt desert. The town's seen hardship after hardship, but that don't mean old Paramount's gonna give up. They keep that dang town populated. Even if it means bringing them in kicking and screaming.
And psst. They even say that criminal Fluctuateur Vivant's been seen around these parts.
Honte

A village left in isolation . . . by choice. Seigneur Firmin's grandfather rejected the offer of a soulever port years prior, and now the town survives on radishes. Mashed. Boiled. Put on a stick. Radishes. Firmin and his son Jean do get to enjoy meat in the dead of winter when the rations become too strained. All it requires is a donation selected by The Raffle and a little fire.

Nerveux

A small mountain foothill town with picturesque views and beautiful architecture, Nerveux is the definition of tranquil beauty. The community is warm and the people welcoming . . . or they used to be. Circumstances surrounding the death of their previous mayor and his daughter have soured the townspeople to outsiders—Résonateurs in particular. They won't forget what happened after those two young men left.
Anxiété

Once a small town, Anxiété's future looked as bleak as Envie and Honte. Then came the offer from the Paramount. A bigger soulever port than the one in Remords to better handle the trade goods being moved along the eastern side of Premier Esprit. The mayor agreed, and 150 years later, Anxiété is now a booming metropolis. While not as wealthy as some of the other cities, it maintains a steady flow of income and has grown from one Solenoid to four.

Agacement

A newly established town, Agacement was meant to releave some of the population burden from Anxiété. And for five years, the town remained peaceful. That all changed in one night. The barrier became supercharged, flashing in a sphere of colors, and the air inside became so hot and dense that citizens struggled to breathe. They fled, and a young Résonateur Commandant was sent to assess the situation. The citizens aren't quite sure what happened to him after that, but the Solenoid was repaired and they returned home. Another six years passed before the barrier showed signs of depletion. When it came to replacing the Solenoid, the chancelier said, "It's too dangerous. Let it die." The barrier fell, but no Phases attacked. Despite this, Agacement remains abandoned.
Plaisir

A massive plateau-shaped structure surrounded by over eighty miles of farmland and crop fields, Plaisir is extremely unique, even by Premier Esprit standards. Seventy-five percent of Premier Esprit's food supply comes from Plaisir, and while the fields are guarded by barriers set out in honeycomb pattern and a twenty-foot perimeter wall, the port itself has no Solenoid due to an incident over a century ago that brought transport—and dinner—to a halt. Plaisir is guarded by a rotation of guards and Résonateurs in the barrier's place, and soulevers require clearance to dock. The beef and bread must be protected at all costs.

Éthéré Coeur

Welcome to the Heart of the World. The Paramount above all else. The capital city of the Suzerain's sovereignty. Éthéré Coeur was established nearly four thousand years ago by the first Suzerain's son, Maël. Suzerain Maël constructed the city over the ruins of his father's original capital, Athánatos Kardiá. Éthéré Coeur is a marvel of architecture and engineering—a disk the size of a mountain's base suspended roughly a half mile above ground by eight arching pillars. The city is also split into three districts: the Trough, the market ring, and the Crest. Each district is represented by a different color, emphasizing the differences in class and wealth.

The Trough: The poor district along the disk's edge, the Trough is made of gray, moss-covered stone. The buildings are small and canals of water runoff from the rest of the city run through it to the edge of the disk. Several jutting outcrops along the edge serve as soulever docks for cargo vessels and those who don't have Crest clearance. The Trough is separated from the market ring by a guarded copper fence.

The Market Ring: The buildings of the market ring are made of red brick. The hub of trade and the primary area for merchants, the market ring is filled with buildings of different geometries and architecture. Many fine restaurants and shops line the curve of the market ring, the owners of which hope to one day ascend past the golden gate.

The Crest: The wealthiest of the wealthy. Only the elite find housing in the Crest, and only the best remain there. Many of the residents are high-ranking Paramount officials like Résonateurs, councilmen, or savants, but a good portion of the population are rich families who have maintained roots in Éthéré Coeur. The shops of the Crest are considered first-class, and it's the dream of every merchant to one day call the Crest residents clientele.

In the center of the Crest is the heart of the Paramount: three ivory towers that serve as the hubs of power. The towers are positioned in a triangle formation around the Suzerain's lighthouse palace Lumière du Coeur.

Résonateur Édifice (Resonator Building)—where Résonateurs are trained, housed, and given assignments. L’Académie de Manipulation Émotionnelle des Résonateurs is where recruits are grown and cultivated from saplings into powerful wielders of emotions. Also the location of the Paramount guard barracks attached to the tower.
Bibliothèque de l’Archiviste (Archivist Library)—library for all information in Premier Esprit, hub for the relier system, and physical location of the Sommet. Archivistes and Enquête, whose duties revolve around information, call this tower home.
Pylône de la Science (Science Pylon)—center for innovation and technology. The Paramount's massive soulever harbor rests by the tower, and the Solenoid production lab is underneath it inside the disk.
